Surreal Museum Tower

The project asks how vertical circulation can unsettle spatial perception. Instead of a fixed route, multiple circulation paths — an entry courtyard, ramp system and play platform, terraced stair, surreal stair atrium, and vertical layers of exhibition space — thread distinct exhibition conditions into a continuous sequence across rooms, thresholds, and vertical transitions, translating dream states into built space within a conventional commercial tower.

The envelope carries the same instability outward. A dual-layer moiré facade overlays offset patterns so that interference shifts with the viewer's distance and angle: it reads as quiet texture from far range and resolves into distorted figures up close, making the envelope appear to expand, compress, and blur. A humidity-responsive foldable paper layer completes the system, with sensors and actuators adjusting the screens from closed to fully open as conditions change.
